Federal Crimes

Valentin Rodriguez has handled federal crimes cases for over 22 years and has handled well over 350 federal cases to completion. He originally joined a panel of the Criminal Justice Act in 1998 and has been assigned cases regularly since that time.   He has successfully defended several clients in federal court on drug offense charges, resulting in acquittals and hung juries and low sentences. He also has handled, on a private basis, complex federal criminal trials lasting more than six weeks, and involving over $800 million in alleged fraud loss.

He has handled all sorts of complex federal criminal cases: securities fraud, mortgage fraud, wire fraud, insurance fraud, services fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud, tax violations, money laundering, RICO conspiracies, drug conspiracies, arms export violations, bank robberies, assaults on federal officers, Hobbs Act cases involving death, enticement of minors via computers, and firearms violations. Valentin Rodriguez has also handled sentencing proceedings in over 100 federal cases, and the resulting federal appeals of those trials and sentences.
